About me

I am a data scientist at Health Care Service Corporation (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas). I earned my MS in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), where my coursework and research was focused on data science/machine learning. Advised by Dr. Huaming Zhang, my thesis research was on the application of unsupervised image segmentation methods in satellite imaging.

Prior to my MS at UAH, I worked with World Bank as a data science consultant on social science domain. I also had a little stinct with InfoDevelopers Pvt. Ltd. as an AI Developer before joining World Bank. I obtained my bachelor’s degree on mechanical engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.

Knowledge is my passion. I find joy in understanding something and expanding my horizon. The use of knowledge to do good deeds or bring positive change is my calling (or purpose). Dissemination of knowledge is my hobby. I love sharing my knowledge in the form of blogs, papers, articles, presentations, and so on.

As a epistemophile, I love reading books, perusing research papers, taking courses, and engaging in knowledge related activities. I also love expressing my creativity in the form of writing, coding, problem solving, poetry, and design. I also appreciate creativity and art of any form and enjoy them.

I love both indoor and outdoor sports (the less contact, the better). I love following, watching, and playing cricket. Test cricket is my favorite form of sports both to watch and play. I have played a lot of informal test cricket all over my childhood (😉 you know what I mean here). Recently, I have started to play tennis. I also love playing table tennis (ping pong). I find board games stimulating and fun. I love chess, sequence, word games, sudoku, and crossword puzzles.
